The Common Problems Of Being Pregnant
When you are pregnant, a lot of changes are happening within your body, and these can cause you various unexpected problems. These changes occur as part of the trimesters that you go through, with the first and third of them typically being the worst in the sense that you probably feel most discomfort during those periods.
One of the most common problems that comes with pregnancy is that of morning sickness, which occurs most frequently during the first trimester. Associated with morning sickness, and typically preceding it, is nausea, though this feeling may actually arise at any time of the day or night.
Another particularly common side effect of being pregnant is the need to urinate more and a general feeling of thirst. Both of these feelings are common throughout the period of pregnancy but are most pronounced during the first and third trimesters. Related to these problems is that of a desire to consume more food than normal, and quite often some food combinations which others may consider to be somewhat odd. You should not feel at all bad about what you want to eat and the amount that you eat whilst pregnant as the only thing of importance is that your baby is being well nourished.
You may find yourself having problems trying to get to sleep, as this is something that many pregnant women experience. Try to avoid taking any medication to help you sleep, unless it is expressly advised to you by your doctor. A better approach is to simply work on making your sleeping area more comfortable and performing relaxation techniques.
Skin, nails and hair are also affected when pregnant. You may find your skin becomes excessively oily or dry, and your hair may lose its luster or thin a bit. These changes will go back to normal after you give birth. The increased hormone levels will affect this significantly. It is usually recommended that you do not do anything drastic to your hair such as coloring it or getting it permed. Your hair may not react the same to various chemicals so now is not the time to drastically change your hairstyle.
Bear in mind that the changes and problems mentioned above are just temporary though, and that although they may be be uncomfortable or annoying, they are not anything to worry about. However, should you feel that any of them are becoming unbearable, then you can contact your doctor, who may be able to advise you on some techniques that you can implement to lessen the impact that they are having on you.
