Infertility: Natural Treatment Options
I usually postpone going to the doctor for as long as I can. I acknowledge that they are usually good at what they do, but lots of doctors seem very keen to administer antibiotics for the tiniest sniffle. Don’t they realize that they are developing superbugs? Even with something like infertility, natural treatment is my first choice. Natural treatments often do just as well, they generally cost less and there are not as many side effects.
Some natural treatments will raise your fertility specifically while others assist your system to heal itself by reducing tension and increasinggeneral health. So what exactly are these natural treatments for infertility? Well, here goes:
- Acupuncture – The use of acupuncture in fertility treatment is relatively well documented. The practitioner will use super-fine needles to stimulate specific points. In studies where acupuncture was peformed before and after IVF procedures the reports seem quite positive.
- Herbs – People underrate the potency of herbs, so take care that you see someone who knows what’s going on.
- Homeopathy – Homeopathy can help both male and female infertility by stimulating the body to heal itself.
- Pilates and Yoga – Just confirm that your instructor knows a bit about exercise and yoga for infertility.
- Aromatherapy – Apparently this can normalize your monthly cycle so that you are able to get your scheduling for the baby dance just right.
- Naturopathy – This incorporates a large variety of treatments such as diet, acupuncture and the like.
- Sleep – Just get adequate sleep! As tempting as it is to stay awake till the early hours of the morning researching infertility, it is really unhelpful as sporadic sleep patterns can mess up your cycle too.
- And many more!
It all sounds great, but just make certain that you go to a licensed practitioner – you don’t want some quack shoving needles where they don’t belong. Let your practitioner know about your plans to conceive as this could affect your treatment. You might solve both problems by asking your infertility clinic to refer you to local practitioners.
Even if the treatments don’t influence your fertility directly, a bit of pampering will do you good. It can help you feel less tense and perhaps more prepared to deal with your infertility – and less tension can only be good news if you want to get pregnant.
When treating your infertility, natural treatments are good to try. Some sympathetic care and attention will make you feel a lot better and regular exercising, healthy eating and sufficient rest never hurt anyone!
